The summary

“There is no fear. The falling is joy. And I am forgotten”

I co-wrote and devised Waves alongside Aisling Rachel Madden under ACNE Performance Company.

Two clowns look for meaning in a world that is sinking. The more they speak, the further the water comes. The words don’t make that much sense, and there’s an endless pile of washing to be done.

Waves was developed in Bristol with support from Creative Youth Network and prototyped during a week long R&D in Dundalk, Ireland in late 2019.

The project was put on hold due to Covid-19.

Can you see me? We’re lost, looking for each other, searching for time and place - we are in the future, our future selves in our past bodies, and we share what life was like with a drowning and uncertain future.

Waves​ is the dream you can’t quite remember when you wake up, an invitation to share in the joy and grief, and to find the threads that connect us as human beings.

Featuring vivid storytelling, poetry, physical theatre, and clown, ​Waves​ is a contemporary performance that interrogates and demands as it’s washed away by the tide and forgotten.
